Elvis - The Way It Was

There has never been a bigger star in the world than Elvis Presley. To pay tribute to an artist is to reproduce faithfully the look and the sound of their act. This new band does exactly that, playing the music of the King of rock & roll the way it should be - the way it was.

This tribute show features an 11-piece band playing live the way you would hear on the original tapes. No other Elvis act in Ireland has a three-piece brass section. Elvis - The Way It Was also features female backing singers in addition to a lineup modelled on the original TCB band. The show offers a chance to see Elvis when he was at the height of his powers, inspired by his own live performances between 1969 and 1973. It showcases his early recordings as well as his later hits.

Highlights of the set include his breakthrough recording "That's All Right" right through to his last Top Ten "Burning Love" via all points in between. Rock and roll, country, ballads and pop songs all feature, with showstoppers such as "An American Trilogy", "I Can't Stop Loving You" and "Suspicious Minds."

The show also pays tribute to Elvis' renditions of songs by other artists, including "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" by the Righteous Brothers, "Proud Mary" by Creedence Clearwater Revival and Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water".

From the opening strains of "Also Sprach Zarathustra" to the final notes of the closing vamp, we guarantee you won't have seen a more authentic tribute show. The replica suit worn by "Elvis" was bought in Graceland and the musicians worked out the arrangements from the original recordings.

Elvis was recently voted Artist of the Century, proving that his popularity has never been greater and the timing of this new show couldn't be better. It appeals to everyone, whether you're just out for a good night or you appreciate the authentic sound of a 70s show, and is ideal for a headline gig, corporate or private function.

In 1998, the band performed on "Den 2" show on Network 2 as well as appearing in Dustin's "32 Counties" video.

The act has been endorsed by the Elvis Social Club, which is the Irish branch of the Elvis Presley Fan Club of Great Britain. Club president John Kavanagh said, "this is the best Elvis act I've ever seen - since Elvis."
